NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Tuesday 3/22/22

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at two players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Obi Toppin, PF, New York Knicks ($3,700)

With Julius Randle ruled out tonight, Obi Toppin should be getting the start for the New York Knicks.

This is a very straightforward value spot. A starter is out, and a bench player is slotted into the starting lineup. When Randle is off the court this season, Toppin is producing 0.85 FanDuel points per minute with a 19.8% offensive usage rate. Those are solid numbers overall, and we don't need them to be massive since Toppin's salary is so affordable tonight.

He's going up against the Atlanta Hawks, who are allowing 45.64 FanDuel points per game to power forwards (eighth-worst in the league). This game has a very solid 226.5-point over/under and a close 3.0-point spread, which should make it one of the better fantasy environments on the slate.

All of this gives Toppin a projection of 19.94 minutes and 18.7 FanDuel points, but he can easily exceed that if the game stays close.

Alex Caruso, PG/SG, Chicago Bulls ($4,000)

Alex Caruso was in the starting lineup for the Chicago Bulls last night and should be there again tonight.

Seeing Caruso in the starting lineup last night was a bit of a surprise since he has traditionally come off the bench for them. A starter who is only $4,000 is always going to grab your attention -- but especially one such as Caruso. He can fill up the stat sheet and reach fantasy value in a variety of ways.

A slate-high 233.0-point over/under versus the Milwaukee Bucks should be beneficial for Caruso and the Bulls (17th), who are in a slight pace-up spot versus the Bucks (8th).

The Bulls also have Zach LaVine listed as questionable for tonight's game, which could open up further offensive usage for him.

Caruso enters projected for 31.29 minutes and 24.5 FanDuel points, making him the third-best value option on the entire slate.
