3 NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Tuesday 3/8/22

Player props are a fun way to bet the NBA without having to worry about the zaniness that last-minute injuries can cause in terms of a spread or a game total.

Here, we'll focus on utilizing our projections and a slew of other tools and simulations to help make some cash.

For this article, we are using the odds provided at NBA Finals odds to pinpoint spots where value can be had tonight.

The prop-betting experience on FanDuel Sportsbook is getting even more fun. You can track your player props with real-time updates and place in-game props with ease.

Note: Betting lines and our player projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

Desmond Bane Over 2.5 Made Three-Pointers (-111)

The Memphis Grizzlies-New Orleans Pelicans game should be a shootout. The total is 231.5, and it's a tight spread of 5.5 points. Both sides are in the top 11 in pace over the last five games.

Memphis' offense should feast, particularly from the outside. New Orleans is allowing a 42.6% three-point attempt rate over the last 15 games, which is the second-highest mark in that time.

That leads me to the over on Desmond Bane's made threes prop. Bane has drilled at least three triples in three straight games, and he's averaging a touch more than eight three-point tries per night in that span.

Our model projects Bane to hit 3.0 treys on 7.2 attempts tonight.

You can also roll the dice on Jaren Jackson Jr. to make more than 1.5 threes (+130). We project him to hit 1.9 shots from deep.

Darius Garland Under 23.5 Points (-118)

Darius Garland draws a tough matchup against the Indiana Pacers, and that pushes me to the under on his points prop.

While Indiana's overall defense isn't very good, they've kept point guards in check of late, limiting the position to 22.5 points per game -- the sixth-fewest -- over their last 15 contests.

The absence of Jarrett Allen doesn't really help Garland's scoring outlook, either. For the campaign, Garland's usage rate falls 2.3 percentage points (to 25.0%) with Allen off the court, according to RotoGrinders' CourtIQ.

Our algorithm projects Garland to net 22.5 points.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Under 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (+100)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is up against the Milwaukee Bucks, and I like backing him to hit fewer than two three-pointers.

SGA has made at least two three-pointers just twice in his past seven games. A beast at getting to the rim, Gilgeous-Alexander doesn't really shoot that many three-balls, hoisting up five or fewer in eight consecutive games.

In addition to the matchup, Gilgeous-Alexander could see reduced minutes if the Oklahoma City Thunder get blown out, something that's very much on the table with the Bucks a 13.0-point favorite.

We forecast SGA to sink 1.9 threes on 5.6 attempts. With the over on this prop priced at -128 and the under at +100, the under makes a lot of sense.
