FanDuel Daily Fantasy NBA: Mountain Dew Super Trey Day Strategy Guide

FanDuel, FanDuel Sportsbook, and Mountain Dew are teaming up to give you More Ways to Win on Trey Day this year. How can you take advantage?

The NBA has fully embraced the three-pointer, and March 3rd, a.k.a. Trey Day should have plenty of long-range splashes as a result.

And with Mountain Dew partnering with FanDuel and FanDuel Sportsbook for Trey Day, we've got More Ways to Win tonight.

At FanDuel Sportsbook, you can place a $25-plus pre-live bet on the first basket scorer on any eligible 3/3 NBA game, and you'll receive $1 in site credit for each three-pointer either team scores in the game (maximum of $25). You can read more on the details at FanDuel Sportsbook.

But if daily fantasy is more your angle, you're covered there, too.

On FanDuel, you can join the $500K Mountain Dew NBA Clutch Shot for just $3.33. The contest comes with an additional opportunity to win a share of a $33K three-point bonus if all of your players make a three-pointer.

There's also the free-to-play Mountain Dew 3-Point Challenge contest in which your three-player lineup will get rewarded for (you guessed it) every three-pointer they splash for an opportunity to win a share of the $3,333 cash prize.

These notes should help build three-point-friendly lineups.

Best Three-Point Matchups

Let's look at the teams who allow the highest rate and most three-pointers on the slate.

The reason to look for this rather than three-point field goal percentage is because teams can defend the arc by not allowing three-pointers but don't have much control over whether opponents make the threes against them.

This table is initially sorted by the offenses who face the defenses with the highest three-point attempt rate allowed (the percentage of field goal attempts faced that come from beyond the arc).

The Miami Heat lead the NBA in three-point attempt rate allowed, and the second-ranked team here, the Golden State Warriors are eighth. Take along look at the Brooklyn Nets tonight. They have a great three-point matchup.

Conversely, the San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, and Dallas Mavericks are all top-five in preventing three-point attempts.

Three-Point Makers by FanDuel Position

This list shows the highest three-point make projections from numberFire's model for tonight's games. Note the scarcity at bigs. Prioritize them if seeking a three-point-heavy lineup. (To clarify, forwards here are defined as having small forward eligibility on FanDuel.)
