NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Tuesday 3/1/22

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at two players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Jarred Vanderbilt, PF, Minnesota Timberwolves ($4,200)

The Minnesota Timberwolves are taking on the Golden State Warriors in what should be a great fantasy environment.

With a slate-high 232.5-point over/under and a close 1.5-point spread, we are looking at one of the best spots for fantasy production. Both teams are in the top half of the league in offense pace, setting things up for a back and forth type of game, plenty of possessions, and plenty of fantasy points.

While there are plenty of great top-tier options in this game, Jarred Vanderbilt is a solid value. The Timberwolves' starting five is loaded with players who can produce fantasy points, and while Vanderbilt doesn't add a ton of pure points, he is still producing 0.99 FanDuel points per minute.

He consistently fills up the stat sheet in several categories to add to his fantasy production, which has led to 24 FanDuel points or more in three of his last five games. Vanderbilt comes in projected for 24.0 minutes and 23.6 FanDuel points, making him the third-best value option at power forward tonight.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, SG/SF, Washington Wizards ($4,400)

The Washington Wizards offer a bit of value with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope tonight versus the Detroit Pistons.

With Bradley Beal out, Spencer Dinwiddie traded to the Dallas Mavericks, and Kristaps Porzingis still not ready to play, KCP has stepped up to add a bit of offense to the Wizards' lineup. He's now carrying a 21.7% offensive usage rate while producing 0.86 FanDuel points per minute. KCP should be able to reach or exceed that level of production due to the soft matchup versus the Pistons, who are allowing 41.29 FanDuel points per game to shooting guards, which is seventh-worst in the league.

KCP is also known for his three-point ability -- hitting at 39% in the month of February -- something that can provide plenty of fantasy upside. The Pistons are very average on defense against three-pointers this season, allowing opponents to make 12.3 per game, which is 15th in the league. All of this gives KCP a projection of 33.15 minutes and 25.4 FanDuel points, making him the top value option among shooting guards tonight.
