3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Monday 2/28/22
One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.
Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.
Gabe Vincent, PG, Miami Heat ($3,900)
This is a very straightforward value option tonight. Lowry is out, and Vincent is set to take his role in the starting lineup. He's going up against the Chicago Bulls, where the over/under is sitting at a solid 221.5-points with a 4.5-point spread.
This season, the Bulls are allowing the 10th-most (47.78) FanDuel points per game to opposing point guards. This puts Vincent in a great spot to pile up plenty of fantasy points due to the great game environment and the soft matchup.
When Lowry is off the court this season, Vincent is producing 0.83 FanDuel points per minute with a 19.7% usage rate.
All of this gives him a projection of 35.99 minutes and 28.1 FanDuel points, making him the top overall value option on the slate.
Brandon Goodwin, PG, Cleveland Cavaliers ($5,300)
Another team and another injury situation bring us another value option tonight.
The team would be the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the injury would be Darius Garland being listed as out tonight. We also see Caris LeVert and Rajon Rondo out for tonight's game, and that puts Brandon Goodwin in a spot to be the starting point guard for the third straight game.
When those players are off the court, Goodwin is producing a solid 0.91 FanDuel points per minute with a 20.7% usage rate.
The Cavaliers (29th) are in a massive pace-up spot versus the Minnesota Timberwolves (3rd), who are one of the fastest teams in the league. This is why we see Goodwin projected for 34.97 minutes and 31.3 FanDuel points, making him the second-best guard value option tonight, and the fourth-best value option overall.
Patty Mills, SG/PG, Brooklyn Nets ($4,400)
The Nets are going to be without Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and Ben Simmons, which means we should see Mills as the starting point guard tonight. This is a solid game environment versus the Toronto Raptors with a close 4.0-point spread and a 218.0-point over/under.
Mills is producing 0.70 FanDuel points per minute when those players are off the court, along with a 22.8% usage rate.
This should allow Mills to reach or exceed fantasy value tonight, as he's projected for 29.06 minutes and 22.2 FanDuel points. While that is under 1.00 FanDuel points per minute, with Mills' low salary, that level of production has him exceed his salary-based expectations.
