Please note that betting lines and our player projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

LaMelo Ball Under 21.5 Points (-108)

LaMelo Ball is going up against a stout Cleveland Cavaliers defense, one that has been tough on point guards.

For the season, the Cavs are surrendering 23.1 points per game to the point guard position, the fifth-fewest. The Cavs (25th in pace) are also a huge pace-down opponent for the Charlotte Hornets (2nd), and Cleveland sits 4th in defensive efficiency for the campaign.

Ball is coming off a 38-point masterpiece and is scoring the ball well of late. But prior to his past five games, he'd scored 21 or fewer points in 12 of his last 14 outings.

As of early Friday, our model projects him for 18.7 points.

Dwight Powell Under 8.5 Points (-126)

Dwight Powell and the Dallas Mavericks host the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

While Joel Embiid's offensive exploits get a lot of headlines, he's also anchoring a defense that's been really solid, especially against bigs. Philly is tied for ninth in defensive efficiency, and the Sixers are holding the center position to a league-low 18.7 points per game.

Powell isn't much of a scorer to begin with, boasting a mere 16.4% usage rate across the Mavs' last five games. He's scored more than eight points just twice over his last 10 appearances. He should struggle to score in this matchup.

We project Powell for 6.8 points against Philly.

Anfernee Simons Over 3.5 Made Three-Pointers (+110)

Four made threes is a lot, but Anfernee Simons can get there tonight.

For starters, he's letting them go from deep, taking at least nine three-pointers in six of his last seven games. He's hit at least four triples in seven of his past nine outings.

A matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder aids his outlook, as well. OKC gives up a three-point attempt rate of 43.2%, the sixth-highest. Versus the Thunder, the shooting guard position has averaged 4.0 made threes per game on 10.5 attempts.

Our model has Simons making 3.6 three-pointers on 8.9 attempts. With the under at -140 and the over priced at +110, I like rolling the dice on the over.
