3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 2/2/22

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Brandon Goodwin, PG, Cleveland Cavaliers ($3,500)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are shorthanded tonight, and that opens up a lot of value.

The Cavs are going to be without Darius Garland tonight, which is on top of already missing Ricky Rubio, Lauri Markkanen, and Collin Sexton. This leaves their guard rotation very thin and has presented Brandon Goodwin as a viable value option tonight. He played a solid 26 minutes the other night against the New Orleans Pelicans and was able to post 23.7 FanDuel points in that time. The near 1.00 FanDuel points per minute is very encouraging and will allow him to reach and exceed value very quickly given the fact he is the minimum salary.

He should be able to do that tonight since he is up against the Houston Rockets, who are allowing 52.03 FanDuel points per game to point guards, which is the worst in the league. This is also a big pace-up spot for the Cavaliers (28th) because the Rockets (3rd) are one of the fastest teams in the league. All of this puts Goodwin in a great spot to be a top value option tonight.

Bojan Bogdanovic, SF/PF, Utah Jazz ($5,200)

With so many injuries for the Utah Jazz, Bojan Bogdanovic is shaping up to be a top option.

Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles, and Rudy Gobert are all out for the Jazz, and that presents a ton of offensive usage for the remaining players. When we account for those players being off the court, Bogdanovic is carrying a 33.5% offensive usage rate and is producing 1.23 FanDuel points per minute. That is an 8.4% increase in his usage and an additional 0.41 FanDuel points per minute compared to when those players are on the court.

This is a significant bump in production for Bogdanovic, and he is still only $5,200. The matchup against the Denver Nuggets has a solid 222.5-point over/under and a close 2.5-point spread, putting this game near the top of the list when it comes to strong fantasy environments tonight. Bogdanovic is projected for 32.82 minutes and 28.2 FanDuel points, which has him as the fourth-best value option at small forward tonight.

Montrezl Harrell, C/PF, Washington Wizards ($5,000)

With Thomas Bryant ruled out tonight, Montrezl Harrell should be in for some extra minutes.

This is a pretty straightforward spot for Harrell, as the Wizards' big-man rotation has been shortened with Bryant out tonight. Harrell comes off the bench for the Wizards, and it often leads to a consistent but modest amount of production on a nightly basis. We should see that ceiling increased tonight with the extra minutes. Harrell is projected for 23.99 minutes and 25.8 FanDuel points, which has him exceeding his salary-based expectations.

The matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers is a middle-of-the-road game with a 213-point over/under and a 10.0-point spread, but the solid production rate per minute should still allow Harrell to exceed value.
