3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 1/19/22

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

De'Anthony Melton, SG/PG, Memphis Grizzlies ($4,100)

The Memphis Grizzlies have been hit with a wave of injuries, opening up plenty of value options tonight.

There are a total of five players out for Memphis tonight versus the Milwaukee Bucks, and that should push De'Anthony Melton into the starting lineup. This should be one of the elite fantasy matchups on the slate given the high 229.0-point over/under and a 5.5-point spread. We also see both teams in the top 10 of the league in offensive pace, putting this in a spot to see significant scoring.

The Bucks are around the league average allowing 39.59 FanDuel points per game to shooting guards, putting Melton in a softer matchup.

All of this makes Melton the top overall value option on the slate, projected for 26.89 minutes and 30.2 FanDuel points. Despite it being a large 13-game slate, Melton should be one of the chalkiest players on the slate in all formats.

Joe Ingles, SG/SF, Utah Jazz ($3,700)

Donovan Mitchell is out for the Utah Jazz, changing their starting lineup.

Joe Ingles is expected to be in the starting lineup for the Jazz tonight and at $3,700, he should be a very popular value option. The Jazz have a phenomenally easy matchup against the Houston Rockets, who are allowing 42.88 FanDuel points per game to opposing shooting guards -- dead last in the league. This game has a large 231.0-point over/under but also a large 13.0-point spread in favor of the Jazz.

We generally don't like larger spread games for NBA DFS but with Ingles being only $3,700, he doesn't have to do too much in order to reach value.

Speaking of reaching value, Ingles is projected for 29.24 minutes and 24.8 FanDuel points, which has him exceeding his salary-based value by a good margin. Rostering Ingles tonight allows you to aim for a big stars and scrubs roster build.

Day'Ron Sharpe, PF, Brooklyn Nets ($4,500)

The Brooklyn Nets are going to be a bit shorthanded tonight, and Day'Ron Sharpe could be a solid value option.

The Nets are going to be without Kevin Durant, Nicolas Claxton, DeAndre Bembry, and Paul Millsap, which changes up their big man rotation. Sharpe had already stepped into a larger role recently, going for 19 minutes or more in five straight games, and that trend is set to continue tonight versus the Washington Wizards.

He's expected to be in the starting lineup at center and has a great matchup to attack since the Wizards are allowing the fourth-most (57.00) FanDuel points per game to opposing centers.

With a massive 234.0-point over/under and a very close 1.0-point spread, this is shaping up to be one of the best fantasy games on the slate. Sharpe comes in projected for 23.82 minutes and 26.5 FanDuel points, making him the second-best value option among power forwards tonight.
