3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 12/8/21

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Precious Achiuwa, PF/C, Toronto Raptors ($4,900)

At $4,900, Precious Achiuwa is one of my favorite value plays on the slate.

Achiuwa is the starting center for the Toronto Raptors and can easily exceed value tonight versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. Before we dive into things, I suggest rostering Achiuwa at the power forward position, so you are not blocked at the center spot from rostering Joel Embiid or Nikola Jokic. With that said, we want to attack the Thunder since they are allowing 56.49 FanDuel points per game to opposing centers -- fifth-worst in the league.

Achiuwa comes in producing 0.97 FanDuel points per minute with a 17.4% offensive usage rate. This gives Achiuwa a projection of 32.40 minutes and 26.6 FanDuel points; that makes him the fourth-best value option among centers tonight. While this game only has a 207.0-point over/under, the minutes are secure for Achiuwa and the matchup is too good to pass up.

Ayo Dosunmu, SG, Chicago Bulls ($4,800)

With a number of players out for the Chicago Bulls, they have some value options to consider.

The Bulls are going to be without DeMar DeRozan, Javonte Green, Coby White, Matt Thomas, and have Alex Caruso listed as doubtful. This led to Ayo Dosunmu being in the starting lineup in their most recent game, and he went for a big 41 minutes and 30.2 FanDuel points. Given the lack of players available for the Bulls, Dosunmu is projected for 38.18 minutes and 25.4 FanDuel points tonight.

While the production seems a bit low, the massive volume of minutes is what we should be focusing on.

Tonight's matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers has a 211.0-point over/under and a close 3.0-point spread. If the game stays close, it won't be a surprise to see Dosunmu exceed his projection and become one of the best values on the slate.

Cody Martin, SG/PG, Charlotte Hornets ($5,000)

The Charlotte Hornets are another team missing a number of players.

A total of five players are out for the Hornets due to the league's health and safety protocol, which has led to them running a tight eight-man rotation in their most recent game. This is along the lines of what we should be seeing from them tonight versus the Philadelphia 76ers with a solid 214.5-point over/under. Due to all of these players being out, Cody Martin has played 32 and 42 minutes in their two most recent games -- a level he is projected for tonight.

Martin comes in projected for 34.97 minutes and 28.2 FanDuel points. That has him as the third-best value option among point guards, but he has a lower salary compared to both of the players projected ahead of him. Martin should be one of the most popular players on tonight's slate and is viable in all formats.
