NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Thursday 10/21/21

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at two players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Jordan Nwora, PF/SF, Milwaukee Bucks ($4,300)

The Milwaukee Bucks have a number of injuries to pay attention to, and that opens up some value.

It's the second game of the season, and the Bucks have a few different players ruled out. Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez, Semi Ojeleye, and Bobby Portis are all ruled out for Milwaukee tonight, and this could push Jordan Nwora into the starting lineup.

Nwora saw 26 minutes off the bench in their season opener and was able to go for a very solid 28.7 FanDuel points. The per-minute production was strong for Nwora in that game, and it should continue tonight, as he is projected for 27.93 minutes and 25.6 FanDuel points.

While that is under 1.00 FanDuel points per minute, Nwora would still be exceeding salary-based value with those 25.6 FanDuel points. That is all possible since this game against the Miami Heat features a 225.0-point over/under and a close 2.0-point spread. This should enable a good back and forth game environment with plenty of chances to rack up fantasy points.

De'Andre Hunter, SF, Atlanta Hawks ($4,400)

With De'Andre Hunter set to be in the starting lineup for the Atlanta Hawks, he is a clear value option tonight.

It's a smaller three-game slate, and Hunter is shaping up to be one of the best value options on the slate. He's going up against the Dallas Mavericks, where the over/under is set at 225 points with another close 2.0-point spread. The Mavericks were around the league average last season in allowing 41.01 FanDuel points per game to small forwards. With the Mavericks returning the same starting lineup, Hunter should have no issues racking up fantasy points to start the season.

According to numberFire's projections, Hunter is the top value option on the entire slate, set to go for 33.02 minutes and 27.4 FanDuel points. Expect Hunter to be very chalky tonight because the game environment, his minutes, and the matchup are too good to pass up.
