3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Thursday 4/29/21

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Kevon Looney, C, Golden State Warriors ($3,800)

With a high 234.0-point over/under, the Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves matchup is a great spot for fantasy production.

Not only does this game feature a very high over/under, but the Warriors are the second-fastest team in the league in offensive pace, while the Timberwolves are the third-fastest team. Both teams are also in the bottom nine of the league for the most FanDuel points allowed on average to all positions. This is truly setting up to be an all offense, no defense type of game, and we love that as fantasy players.

Kevon Looney is the starting center for the Warriors and is playing in the mid-20s for minutes on a nightly basis. Don't worry about the most recent game for Looney where he played only 20 minutes because that was a bit of a blowout loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Tonight's matchup versus the Timberwolves is fantastic, as they are allowing the sixth-most (56.59) FanDuel points per game to opposing centers. Combine the game total, the pace, the easy defensive matchup, and it gives Looney a projection of 27.20 minutes and 25.4 FanDuel points, making him the highest-projected value option on the slate.

Willy Hernangomez, C, New Orleans Pelicans ($4,900)

The New Orleans Pelicans are on the second night of a back-to-back, and their starting lineup could be a bit different tonight.

Last night, Pelicans center Steven Adams left the game early with a foot sprain and didn't return. Willy Hernangomez started the second half at center for the Pelicans and played a total of 23 minutes. While Hernangomez didn't do a ton with those minutes last night, he could in the starting lineup tonight and has a much easier matchup in front of him. He will be taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are allowing the fifth-most (56.65) FanDuel points per game to centers.

That should put him in a spot for solid fantasy points because he is producing 1.09 FanDuel points per minute in the Pelicans' projected starting lineup. With a solid 229.5 over/under and both teams in the top 11 of the league in offensive pace, Hernangomez could be one of the chalkier options on the slate if he gets the start at center for the Pelicans.

Landry Shamet, SG, Brooklyn Nets ($4,100)

The Brooklyn Nets still have several out due to injuries, opening up playing time for Landry Shamet.

Considering this game has a slate-high 243-point over/under, you should be focusing on getting plenty of exposure to this game. The total opened at 239 points and has risen since then, giving us a good indication there are plenty of points are expected in this matchup. Shamet should be in the starting lineup for the Nets, and with James Harden still out of the lineup, we have seen Shamet increase his role in the offense. He comes into this game with double-digit field goal attempts in seven of his last 10 games, along with at least four three-point attempts in all 10 games.

The Indiana Pacers are not a team to be worried about defensively, as they are allowing 40.61 FanDuel points per game to shooting guards, which is right around the league average. With what is arguably the best fantasy environment on the slate, a player under $5,000 who can play 30-plus minutes is not a player you want to pass up.
