3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Thursday 4/22/21

Patrick Williams has been producing solid fantasy points as of late and has a very soft matchup tonight. Who else should you build around?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Patrick Williams, SF, Chicago Bulls ($4,000)

Patrick Williams has been productive for the Chicago Bulls and will continue to be a solid value play every night.

Williams only played 19 minutes last night against the Cleveland Cavaliers and was able to post 20.4 FanDuel points. That game was a bit of a blowout, so he didn't play at all in the fourth quarter, which is why his minutes were so low. Williams is regularly playing in the high 20's for minutes on a nightly basis, and that has led him to post 24 FanDuel points or more in three of his last five games. At his current salary, that would have him exceed value, something you always want in your lineups.

That is what we should be expecting from Williams tonight because his matchup versus the Charlotte Hornets is so favorable. This season, the Hornets are allowing 43.98 FanDuel points per game to opposing small forwards, which is the fourth-most in the league. Although this game has a low 209-point over/under, it features a 1.0-point spread, which should help keep Williams out on the court for more minutes compared to last night.

Killian Hayes, PG, Detroit Pistons ($4,400)

Killian Hayes sat out last night due to injury management, so he should be set for tonight's game versus the San Antonio Spurs.

With the Detroit Pistons on the second night of a back-to-back, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them rest some of their veteran players in favor of getting their younger ones some playing time. They have been doing this over the past few weeks, so it's reasonable to assume Jerami Grant, Wayne Ellington, or Mason Plumlee could sit out. If that is going to be the case, Hayes would be in a fantastic spot since he is producing 1.02 FanDuel points per minute when they are all off the court. Hayes has played 25, 26, and 33 minutes in his last three games, giving him a clear path to fantasy production since he is productive with his minutes.

Hayes and the Pistons will be taking on the Spurs, who are allowing the ninth-most (48.62) FanDuel points per game to point guards. This is a solid matchup for Hayes, and as long as he can be on the court for 25-plus minutes, he shouldn't have an issue reaching salary-based expectations tonight.

Danny Green, SG, Philadelphia 76ers ($5,300)

With a number of injuries still up in the air for the Philadelphia 76ers, Danny Green could be a key-value option tonight.

Last night, the 76ers were without Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, and Seth Curry, leaving them with a nine-man rotation. This led to Green playing 34 minutes en route to 31.8 FanDuel points, the latter of which was the second-highest on the team. Green provides a secondary scoring option outside of Joel Embiid, which the 76ers need when they have these injuries. That scoring potential is what we are hoping for again tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks, where we have a slate-high 225.5-point over/under.

Green has attempted five three-point attempts or more in 9 of his last 10 games, and that is the volume we are hoping for tonight. If that is going to be the case, Green will be in an excellent spot, as the Bucks are allowing opposing teams to make 14.6 three-pointers per game, which is the third-worst in the league. Both teams are also in the top eight of the league in offensive pace, so the back and forth potential is certainly there and that means extra shot attempts for Green.
