Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash) to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball. Here we'll focus on utilizing our projections and a slew of other tools to help make money betting player props.
For this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint spots where value can be had tonight.
Please note that betting lines and our player projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.
Chris Paul Over 14.5 Points (-108)
In 2020-21, Miami is allowing a league-low 21.0 points per game to floor generals. Paul, however, is averaging 16.0 points per game for the year and has scored 15-plus points in seven of the last nine games in which he's logged at least 30 minutes. The workload shouldn't be a concern today as this game boasts a tight 3.5-point spread.
Our model projects CP3 for 31.9 minutes and 15.9 points.
Caris LeVert Under 4.5 Rebounds (-142)
The Los Angeles Clippers -- Caris LeVert's opposition tonight -- are giving up just 5.6 boards per night to two-guards, the eighth-fewest. That mark is down a bit (to 5.3) over the Clips' last 15 games.
LeVert is averaging 4.4 rebounds per night for the season, but he's done his best rebounding work when Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner have been off the floor. Without those two, LeVert's rebounding rate is 9.6%, according to NBAWowy. Without Turner but with Sabonis -- which is expected to be the situation today -- LeVert's rebound rate sits at 7.6%, which is basically right in line with his overall rebounding rate of 7.5%.
We project LeVert to pull down 4.0 rebounds against the Clippers.
C.J. McCollum Over 3.5 Made Threes (-122)
McCollum sure has been taking a bunch of triples, hoisting a total of 27 three-point tries over his last three games. He's taken at least seven threes in 10 of his past 11 games, and in that span, he's hit four-plus threes four different times.
Our projections have McCollum hitting 4.2 threes tonight on 10.2 attempts.
