DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Wednesday 3/24/21

With 11 games to choose from on Wednesday's slate -- which locks at 7:00 p.m. EST -- let's look at the top options across all five positions for NBA DFS.

Here are some of the top plays on today's DraftKings slate. As always, good luck.

Point Guard

Luka Doncic ($11,000) - This slate is home to five elite players with salaries of at least $10,000, and if healthy, they are all viable at their respective positions. However, Doncic is doing so much to put the Dallas Mavericks on his back of late. Since the All-Star break, he's averaged 30.8 points (mind you, on 52% shooting), 10.3 assists, and 8.2 rebounds in route to 60.8 DraftKings points. According to NBA.com, for players to have played at least five games in that span, his usage is up to a league-leading 36.4%. That will translate well versus a Timberwolves squad that ranks 26th in defensive rating and 28th in the last five games alone.

Ja Morant ($7,500) - Morant has been up-and-down in recent weeks, but in this juicy of a matchup, it's hard to fade him below $8,000. On Wednesday, the Grizzlies travel to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder, who amidst their rebuild have fallen to 24th in defensive rating over the last five games, allowing 115.2 points per game during that time -- 112 per game on the season. It helps that Morant has enjoyed success in these head-to-heads, too. In two matchups, he's averaged a near double-double and 43.5 DK points across 34.3 minutes.

Shooting Guard

Terry Rozier ($7,100) - The Hornets' season has become a lot less exciting without the prospects of watching LaMelo Ball unleashed for a longer stretch. But that means more of Rozier and others, so we'll get to see what he can do as the unquestioned top dog in the backcourt. If the last game was any indication, he's going to get up shots and score. Thanks to 17 attempts, Rozer was able to rack up 24 real-life points and 44.25 DK points against the Spurs. Compared to the Spurs, the Rockets allow 3.8 more DK points per game, ranking second-worst against shooting guards, according to FantasyPros' positional data.

Malik Monk ($4,300) - The trickle-down effect is real. After being left out of the rotation for some time, Monk was able to garner more than 26 minutes and tally 18.8 DK points a game ago. That's not enough for five-times value at this salary, but keep in mind that he was just 5-for-15 from the floor and 1-for-6 from three. The 15 shots, along with a 26.7% usage rate, bode well for him doing more off the bench on Wednesday. Just remember, given his volatility, be sure to prioritize him in tournaments over cash games.

Small Forward

Jaylen Brown ($8,300) - Usually, I'd be inclined to avoid teams facing the Milwaukee Bucks and their top-10 defense, but with Brown's talent, it's hard to fade him in this pace-up spot. On the year, the Bucks are averaging 102.6 possessions a game compared to the Celtics' 98.6, which is promising for Brown to have more opportunities at fantasy points. That fact keeps Brown's floor high, but as for his ceiling, that's a product of his great play of late and in this same matchup. On top of his 44 DK points per game since the break, Brown tallied 33 real-life and 52.8 DK points in his only earlier matchup with Milwaukee.

Sterling Brown ($4,500) - Kevin Porter Jr. remains questionable for the Rockets, and so long as he is out, Brown should be the go-to value. When Porter sat out Monday, Brown was handed 34 minutes with which he yielded 20 points, 10 boards, and 41 DK points. He was a super-efficient 7-for-10, but his role and workload are above his salary level. Without the likes of Eric Gordon and David Nwaba, he has as much upside as anyone under $5,000.

Power Forward

Domantas Sabonis ($9,400) - Sabonis is just going about his All-Star caliber, stat-sheet-stuffing business. Thanks to a double-double average and 6.2 assists a game, he's above 47 DK points per contest this season, while he's upped that to 48.2 in the last 10 days (7 games). In that timeframe, he's had three games of 50-plus and two of 60-plus facing a slew of solid -- if not top -- defenses. He could see more minutes at center as well, with Myles Turner questionable with an injury. If you're looking for a more balanced lineup, Sabonis could be a solid building block tonight.

Jae'Sean Tate ($5,800) - It's pretty simple. Among all NBA squads, Charlotte is dead last at defending power forwards. They are the only team surrendering north of 24 points and 50 DK points to the position, but Tate can also take advantage of his flexibility. The young forward is able to slide into a variety of positions and has recently taken on a larger role without Gordon in the lineup. He's fresh off a game in which he turned 40 minutes into 22 real-life and 42.5 DK points. He too should benefit from the Rockets' 110.75 implied total, per NBA Finals odds.

Center

Clint Capela ($7,300) - Capela's salary is down more than $1,000 from one month ago when he was consistently posting 40-plus fantasy-point performances. Since then, he's dealt with some injuries and blowouts, so don't discount his only solid performances of late. Capela is going to flirt with a double-double and could have 45-to-50 fantasy points against Sacramento. A 236.5 over/under and 119.75 implied total adds fuel to the fire that is the Kings' bottom-three defense against centers.

Daniel Theis ($5,000) - Theis' appeal starts with the pace-up game and what figures to be a high over/under tonight in Milwaukee. But what makes him a core play is the absence of Tristan Thompson, who continues to sit as a result of being in the league's protocols. That's allowed Robert Williams to also enter the fold, but Theis is the better cash play as opposed to Williams being the stronger tourney option. Theis has logged at least 25 minutes in each of his last five games, including 32 three nights ago when he posted a double-double and 36.25 DK points.
