3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 2/25/21

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Derrick Rose, PG, New York Knicks ($5,700)

With Elfrid Payton listed as doubtful tonight, Derrick Rose is in a spot for plenty of minutes.

Rose is projected to be in the starting lineup for the New York Knicks tonight and should be one of the most popular options at point guard. He has a fantastic matchup versus the Sacramento Kings, who are allowing the seventh-most (48.95) FanDuel points per game to opposing point guards this season. We also see the Knicks (30th) playing in a pace-up spot by a considerable margin against the Kings (12th). This should help give plenty of extra possessions for the Knicks, allowing them to boost their fantasy production.

As of now, Rose is projected for 27.40 minutes and 30.1 FanDuel points, which has him exceed salary-based value tonight. That should be very achievable tonight in a game with a solid 223.5 total and a close 2.0-point spread. Expect Rose to be popular in all formats tonight because of the minutes and the very solid matchup.

Will Barton, SF, Denver Nuggets ($5,000)

The Denver Nuggets are hosting the Washington Wizards with a very high 237-point over/under and there are plenty of value options here.

When an over/under is this high (237), you should always be looking to get exposure to it, and doing so via some value players can prove to be beneficial. Will Barton is a value option that stands out tonight for a few reasons. First off, his minutes should be very secure because the Nuggets are going to be without P.J. Dozier, JaMychal Green, Gary Harris, and Paul Millsap. This should shorten the Nuggets' rotation, just as we saw the other night when they only used eight players. Next, the Nuggets are playing in a pace-up spot since they are currently 25th in pace, while the Wizards are the fastest-paced team in the league.

We also see the Wizards allowing the seventh-most (13.6) made three-pointers by opposing teams this season, presenting a bit of upside for Barton. He comes in shooting 40% from downtown this season, which is higher than his career average of 35%. Not only are the Wizards allowing plenty of three-pointers this season, but they are also allowing opposing small forwards to score the second-most (46.24) FanDuel points per game. This is truly one of the best matchups on the slate and Barton is only $5,000.

Michael Carter-Williams, PG, Orlando Magic ($5,000)

Targeting the Brooklyn Nets in DFS has proven to be a solid source of production, so there's no reason to stop now.

The Nets are the sixth-fastest offensive-paced team in the league, and we have seen 15 of their last 20 games hit the over. This means we see plenty of fantasy production from both teams, making the Nets a solid team to target when they are on the slate. Michael Carter-Williams is only $5,000 and comes in with a 21.8% usage rate while producing 0.87 FanDuel points per minute this season.

Since returning from his injury, MCW has played 27 minutes or more in all six games and has totaled 24 FanDuel points or more in four of the six games. That level of production or more is certainly on the table tonight with a 226-point over/under, where we see the Orlando Magic (21st) playing up in pace compared to the Nets, who are the sixth-fastest team.
