3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 1/12/21

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Taurean Prince, PF, Brooklyn Nets ($4,300)

The Brooklyn Nets are going to be without Kyrie Irving and that should open up some usage for other players.

Irving is out again tonight, and while Kevin Durant is a clear elite option, it also presents some value choices on the Nets. Taurean Prince is one of those players seeing minutes and fantasy production, which is what we want to focus on. Prince carries a 19.7% offensive usage and is producing 0.81 FanDuel points per minute when Irving is off the court. Prince has played 21 minutes or more in three straight games, scored 22 FanDuel points or more each of those games while taking a total of 28 field goal attempts in that span.

Tonight's matchup versus the Denver Nuggets looks like one we should be targeting heavily due to the total sitting at 230.5, which is the highest on the slate. Right now, the Nuggets are allowing 44.19 FanDuel points per game to opposing power forwards, which is 16th in the league. Between the matchup and the game environment, Prince should have plenty of chances to pile up fantasy points.

Isaac Okoro, SF, Cleveland Cavaliers ($3,500)

Rookie Isaac Okoro has been inconsistent to start the season but he comes in at the minimum salary tonight.

There are a few factors to note for the Cleveland Cavaliers versus Utah Jazz game tonight, so let's take a look. First off, the Cavaliers are set to miss several starters yet again. Next, this game only has an over/under of 206.5 points, which is insanely low for an NBA game. However, due to all of the injuries, numberFire's projections have Okoro set to play 40.30 minutes tonight. But, Okoro is only producing 0.43 FanDuel points per minute with the current set of players available for the Cavaliers.

There are a bunch of positives and negatives about Okoro as a value option. His salary is great and his projected minutes are great, but the game environment and his production aren't. I'm not excited about the production being under 0.50 FanDuel points per minute, but rostering him allows you to go for a full stars and scrubs build.

Gary Harris, SG, Denver Nuggets ($4,600)

The Nuggets should be popular tonight due to their matchup against the Nets.

As mention above, this game has an over/under of 230.5 points and should be the most popular game on tonight's slate. Going to Nikola Jokic or Jamal Murray are great options for the Nuggets, but finding a bit of value with Gary Harris is also a strong choice. The Nuggets are sitting at 20th in offensive pace, while the Nets are the 3rd-fastest team in the league. This is a large step up for the Nuggets, which should give their offense extra opportunities to pour in fantasy points.

Harris is only carrying a 15.4% usage rate this season but the lower usage rate shouldn't be an issue since his matchup is so favorable. The Nets are allowing 45.05 FanDuel points per game to opposing shooting guards, which is the third-worst in the league. Specifically, the Nets are allowing 25.33 real points per game from opposing shooting guards. That is where Harris should excel tonight since he comes in with a total of 30 field goal attempts in his last three games, where 16 of the 30 were three-pointers. The scoring upside is there for Harris tonight and he can exceed value quickly with his shooting upside.
