DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Wednesday 8/5/20

With six games to choose from on today's NBA slate, let's take a look at how to utilize the DFS possibilities.

Here are some of the top plays on DraftKings. As always, good luck.

Point Guard

Shake Milton ($5,400) -- Milton took to Instagram Monday night with a picture of former legend Robert "Big Shot Bob" Horry after his game-winning three-pointer versus the Spurs was the difference. Milton was under scrutiny after arguing with 76ers' star Joel Embiid ($10,400) in the loss to the Pacers and bounced back with 27.25 fantasy points on 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 26 minutes as the starting point guard.

Milton will suit up versus the Washington Wizards next who allow the seventh-most fantasy points per game to point guards (49.25). He hasn't played the Wizards yet in his career. Still, a matchup with Shabazz Napier ($5,400) and Ishmael Smith ($4,800) after hitting the biggest shot of his career is favorable to continue this momentum. The Wizards have allowed 111 and 125 points in their two bubble games, so Milton and the 76ers could pour it on.

Chris Chiozza ($5,300) -- Choizza had an outstanding game versus the Bucks on Tuesday, recording 10 points, 10 assists, and 3 rebounds in 31 minutes. The Bucks rested most of their starters, but Choizza earned some valuable time. He most likely will come off the bench behind Caris LeVert ($7,800) with Jamal Crawford suffering an injury. Choizza played 21 minutes in the first game of the bubble and 31 on Tuesday, and as they rest vital players moving forward, he can be a critical DFS piece.

Watch what the Brooklyn Nets lineup will look like and who they're throwing out versus the Boston Celtics. If any of their starting guards are out, I will take a guy like Choizza cheap in my guard spot over teammates Tyler Johnson ($6,100) and company. numberFire's model projects Chiozza with only 10 minutes with

Shooting Guard

Marcus Smart ($6,500) -- Through two games, Smart has done a little bit of everything for the Celtics. In his first game, he totaled 31 fantasy points on 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist; and in the second game, he recorded 3 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, three steals, and 2 blocks for 24.25 fantasy points. He's averaging 30.3 fantasy points on the season, and versus the Nets, he's averaging 31.3 fantasy points in 34 minutes.

The Celtics could rest a few players or restrict minutes versus the Nets, and Smart would be one player that could see his usage and minutes remain the same. On the list for possible rest is hobbled point guard Kemba Walker ($6,100) and veteran Gordon Hayward ($7,100). Without those two on the floor, Smart has the third-highest usage rate (21%) and averages more fantasy points per minute (0.96) than Jaylen Brown (0.90).

Donovan Mitchell ($7,500) -- With three games under his belt, Mitchell has played 32 or more minutes in every game and surpassed his 38.2 fantasy average in two of three. He's not only scoring at a high clip with 22 points per game, but he's recorded at least four assists in all three games and totaled five rebounds in two of three. With Bojan Bogdanovic out for the Jazz, Mitchell is counted on to handle more on the offensive end.

Mitchell is the second-highest projected point scorer according to numberFire's model with 26.3 points plus 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists. In his three games versus the Memphis Grizzlies, Mitchell averages 40 fantasy points per game and 35.2 minutes. The Grizzlies are hanging on for dear life as the eighth-seed in the West, and Mitchell can undoubtedly play to Memphis seventh-ranked pace (105.2). He could have another huge game to follow up his 33-point effort on Monday.

Small Forward

Tobias Harris ($8,600) -- In Harris' first two outings, he's surpassed 42 fantasy points in both. He's averaging 27.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2 assists in two games and has taken a backseat to Embiid but is the first option when he's not on the floor. Harris and Embiid alike can have solid outings versus the Wizards, and Harris averages 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in two meetings.

Washington allows the eight-most fantasy points to small forwards (42.33), the second-most points (22.59), and the third-most assists per game (4.45). Harris is projected to have his third-straight 20-point game in addition to 6.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists. If he maintains his 23 shot attempts per game, he's going to be a top-rated DFS player and see his price tag rise slowly.

Michael Porter Jr. ($6,200) -- Goodbye $4,500 value and hello $6,200. MPJ played himself into another bracket versus the Thunder, going for 59.5 fantasy points and a career-high 37 real-life points. Porter Jr. has scored double-digits in consecutive games, and in his Thunder performance, he grabbed 12 rebounds on 44 minutes. Certainly, he won't play 44 minutes unless they go to overtime again, but he's worth a play versus the Spurs.

The Spurs allow the fifth-most fantasy points per game to small forwards (42.82) and rank eighth or worst in points allowed (21.30), rebounds (8.46), and assists (4.19). MPJ has the opportunity to grow in the offense with three leading players out, so take the buy on him even with the $1,700 jump in salary. numberFire's model projects Porter Jr. for 10.3 points and 5.4 rebounds but only 18 minutes, so expect what he can do if he plays 30 or more.

Power Forward

OG Anunoby ($5,500) -- Anunoby has had three meetings with Magic, Anunoby's averaged 25.9 fantasy points, and 32.2 minutes per game. The Magic allow the sixth-most fantasy points per game to power forwards (49.89) and Jonathan Isaac out for Orlando, Anunoby's value for the game rises. Orlando allows the second-most rebounds to power forwards (12.35) and the fourth-most assists (3.98). In the three meetings, Anunoby's averaging 7.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in 32.2 minutes.

He's played two-straight games of 33 minutes and already dropped 23 points and four rebounds on 8-for-9 shooting versus the Lakers. He has the talent, and if the Raptors grab a significant lead or want to limit their veterans' minutes, Anunoby is an immediate option to step up.

Anthony Davis ($10,300) -- Davis remains the top power forward in DFS slates and is worth a stack with another superstar or his teammate LeBron James ( ). Davis is one of the few players averaging 50 or more fantasy points per game (51.1) and versus the Thunder, that total is at 61.8. In two contests versus the Thunder, Davis averages 33.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.

The Lakers locked up the one seed in the West, so there's no telling how many minutes he will play from here on out, but he's worth one more DFS selection at least. numberFire's model projects Davis to record 26.3 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 34 minutes versus the Thunder.

Center

Serge Ibaka ($6,000) -- Ibaka is a hidden gem in this matchup with the Magic. Similar to Anunoby, Ibaka will face a second unit without Issac for the Magic, and that can spell disaster for Orlando. Ibaka is coming off a 15-point and 6-rebound performance for 22 fantasy points in 26 minutes. Ibaka has 30.9 fantasy points on 27.2 minutes for the season and a double-double threat off the bench. Ibaka and Marc Gasol ($4,200) have played equal minutes so far through two games, so taking the younger Ibaka is the better DFS play. The model predicts 13.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in 23 minutes versus Orlando.

Joel Embiid ($10,400) -- Embiid is a must-play again tonight versus the Wizards. Embiid's posted 45.75 and 81.25 fantasy points in his first two games of the bubble, and he's put up 71 points and 30 rebounds combined on 40 shot attempts. The 76ers big man has dominated the Wizards in both meetings this season, averaging 49.8 fantasy points per game on 23.5 points and 17.0 rebounds.

The Wizards allow the second-most fantasy points per game to centers (57.97) with the seventh-most points (22.71) and the most rebounds (17.53). He's also visited the free-throw line 12 times and attempted 17 shots or more in three-straight games dating back to March. Embiid's the first option in Philadelphia for nearly everything except passing, and expect him to be the top-scoring center on the DFS slate tonight once again.
