3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 1/16/20

Monte Morris is set to be the starting point guard for the Nuggets tonight and is a clear value play. Which other players should you be looking at tonight?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Monte Morris, PG, Denver Nuggets ($4,000)

It's shaping up to be a very chalky slate in some spots and that could be led by Monte Morris.

Last night, Denver Nuggets' point guard Jamal Murray was injured and will not play tonight. Morris started the second half at point guard and played a total of 23 minutes but only posted 12.7 FanDuel points.

Tonight, he has an easier matchup against the Golden State Warriors, who allow 50.0 FanDuel points per game to point guards, the third-worst mark in the league. We have Morris projected for 27 minutes tonight, going for 25 FanDuel points as the starting point guard.

This game has a 212-point over/under -- the lowest on the slate -- but this is a good pace-up spot for the Nuggets, as they are 29th in the league and the Warriors are 14th in pace. On a five-game slate, Morris should be one of the most popular options, regardless of position, due to his price and role as the starting point guard.

Mikal Bridges, SF, Phoenix Suns ($4,500)

Another injury situation to keep track of is Kelly Oubre of the Phoenix Suns.

Oubre is in the concussion protocol for the Suns, and with that being the case, we should see Mikal Bridges get the start. Bridges comes in at a very modest price tag tonight and is projected to be our fourth-best value play tonight. We have him going for 35 minutes and 28 FanDuel points tonight against the New York Knicks.

When Oubre is off the court this season, Bridges is carrying a very modest 13.0% usage rate and producing 0.73 FanDuel points per minute. While the production isn't amazing, the Knicks are allowing 39.3 FanDuel points per game to small forwards this season. He is under $5K tonight and set to play over 30 minutes, which is tough to find on a five-game slate.

Daniel Theis, PF, Boston Celtics ($4,400)

Another team, another injury situation to monitor.

The Boston Celtics were without Jayson Tatum last night and then saw Jaylen Brown sprain his thumb against the Detroit Pistons. Two key starters for the Celtics could miss tonight's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, but that opens up plenty of minutes in their rotation. Daniel Theis re-entered the starting lineup last night -- after missing only one game -- and finished with a very productive 31 FanDuel points in 27 minutes.

Theis should be in his normal starting role tonight, but if their rotation is thinned out due to the injuries, he could be in a spot to see some extra minutes. Currently, we have him projected for 24 minutes and 24.1 FanDuel points. Hopefully, Theis would be able to continue that production rate with extra minutes, which could make him one of the best value plays on the slate.
