3 NBA DraftKings Studs to Target on 11/20/19

While building a daily fantasy basketball lineup, it's important to make sure you find the right studs to anchor your team. As the most expensive players in your lineup, they need big-time production to match their high price tag.

You may find it hard to fit some of these guys in while staying under the salary cap, but you can check out our projections to find value players for your rosters. Let's take a look at the top high-priced DraftKings plays of the day.

Luka Doncic, PG/SG, Dallas Mavericks

DraftKings Price: $10,400

Last game, Luka Doncic showed why he's not only a second-year superstar for the Dallas Mavericks, but he proved his worthiness as a top-five MVP candidate over at FanDuel Sportsbook. In a close win over the San Antonio Spurs, the 20-year-old knocked down 14 of 27 shots en route to 42 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds. He made history as the second-youngest NBA player ever to record a 40-point triple-double. The youngest? LeBron James.

After tossing in 78.25 DraftKings points, Doncic's average is 61.2 for the year on a near triple-double per game. His workload is also stellar, as he's averaging 34.6 minutes with a 32.7% usage rate that sits sixth in the entire Association. At home, those numbers are up to 36.1 minutes and a league-high 36.7% usage.

This evening, the Mavs host the hobbled Golden State Warriors, who are a mere shell of what they once were defensively. Per NBA.com, their 114.4 defensive rating ties them with the Washington Wizards for the worst mark in the league, and their 119.0 points allowed per game are 28th. As 13.5-point favorites, Doncic and company are expected to put up 117.5 points -- 3.4 above their season average.

There's no limit to what Doncic could do here so long as Golden State puts up some kind of fight. Over 33.2 minutes, we project the young star for 44.7 DK points.

Andre Drummond, C, Detroit Pistons

DraftKings Price: $8,700

If you'd like to pay down for similar 60-point upside Andre Drummond is that dude on Wednesday night. The Detroit Pistons center has had his salary dip of late after peaking at $10,800 exactly two weeks ago, so consider this a prime buy-low spot against the host Bulls.

Drummond is averaging an OK (for his standards) 40.6 DK points over his last four, but working in his favor is a Chicago team giving up 61.0 per game to centers, according to Fantasy Pros. It's the same Bulls team that let him go for 25 points, 24 rebounds and 67 DK points in their last meeting back on November 1.

The biggest plus is in the rebounding department, where Chicago ranks 28th in rebounding rate and 26th in rebounds allowed to centers alone. A double-double is a virtual lock, and that's 1.5 points added to the big guy's total.

Our models see that happening quite easily, projecting Drummond for 16.2 points, 16.0 rebounds and a total of 47.1 DK points -- a value of 5.4 points per $1,000.

Jimmy Butler, SG/SF, Miami Heat

DraftKings Price: $7,700

We know Jimmy Butler is the guy now in Miami, but why then is he getting no respect in the pricing department. Even though he is averaging 42.8 DK points for the season, as well as 43.5 over the last five games, Butler's price has held steady below $8,000. In fact, it hasn't eclipsed $8K since November 5. Since then, he's brought back 1.14 points per $1,000 and has produced at the same rate on a per-minute basis.

The best thing about Butler is that he's logging massive minutes. He's averaging 34.3 but has played no fewer than 38 in four straight. He's played 39 twice in that span, during which he's managed two 13-assist games.

The Cleveland Cavaliers shouldn't present too much of a challenge on Miami's home court. The Cavs are young in the one, two and three spots, and they just aren't going to slow down a guy like Butler. After all, the Heat are nine-point favorites in a game that will likely be in the 215-point range for the total.

This is a cheap price for a consistent performer like Butler. There might be better tournament options in this price range, but for cash, you can't go wrong.
