FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Tuesday 10/29/19

On a three-game main slate, opportunity cost is king. How should you approach the FanDuel slate?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a bunch of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each position.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

Small Forward

There's significant opportunity cost in not rostering LeBron James ($11,300) tonight, as nobody else at small forward can really touch his ceiling. James has played at least 31 minutes in every game while putting forth 1.42 FanDuel points per minute on a 29.8% usage rate. James is a priority play, even if it means missing out on core plays at other positions.

Cam Reddish ($3,700) grades out as the second-best adjusted value play in my projections at the position. With a minutes cap, he has played 21, 23, and 26 minutes with returns of 13.9, 11.6, and 12.8 FanDuel points. That's just 0.54 FanDuel points per minute, but the workload is solid for the price, and he helps spend up at various spots. Teammate DeAndre Bembry ($4,200) is also viable, though the 13.8% usage rate keeps the ceiling capped.

Will Barton ($5,000) is fresh off a 14-attempt game and now has a 19.4% usage rate. Even though he hasn't really blown up, he has averaged 1.01 FanDuel points per minute.

Core Plays: LeBron James, Cam Reddish
Secondary Plays: Will Barton, DeAndre Bembry
