NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Sunday 2/3/19
If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate, which is a three-gamer that starts at 1 p.m. EST.
Best of the Best
Russell Westbrook ($11,700): Westbrook's salary has dropped below that of teammate Paul George ($12,000). PG13 was $9,700 back on January 15th, but he's been scorching hot, causing his price to spike in a big way. Russ was $12,300 on Jan 27th, and it's not like he's been bad in the two games since, recording 58.8 and 51.4 FanDuel points, but his salary has fallen $500 in that span. Oklahoma City's star duo sits atop our projections, with our models pegging Westbrook for a slate-best 52.1 FanDuel points, compared to 48.7 for George. The matchup is brutal as OKC hits the road to take on a Celtics team that's been among the five toughest defenses in terms of FanDuel production allowed to both point guards and small forwards over the past 30 days. On a three-game slate, though, there's not much in the way of top-shelf firepower as our models have just four players projected for more than 43.0 FanDuel points.
