NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 1/16/19
Stephen Curry offers massive upside in what promises to be a shootout against the Pelicans.

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

Best of the Best

Anthony Davis ($13,700): As we've seen for most of the past month, the decision at the top today is between Davis and James Harden, and tonight Davis gets the nod. He's $300 cheaper despite the fact that he has a slight edge over Harden in fantasy production over the past month, averaging 66.9 FanDuel points per game. His upside has also been especially absurd recently, topping 80 FanDuel points in four of his last eight games, while Harden has only done so three times on the season. Davis is also in the slate's best matchup for fantasy purposes, taking on the Golden State Warriors in a game with a massive 241-point over/under and only a 7.0-point spread. The Warriors allow above-average fantasy efficiency to centers, and Davis is a top play in all formats, despite his steep increase in price here.
