NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Friday 12/7/18

No Joel Embiid opens up big usage for Jimmy Butler as the Sixers take on Detroit.

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

Best of the Best

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($12,200): Milwaukee versus Golden State figures to be an outstanding fantasy matchup tonight. This game has a ridiculous 239.5-point over/under, and with only a 1.5-point spread, the two teams have Friday's two highest implied totals. Giannis has been putting up absurd fantasy numbers recently, topping 60 FanDuel points in 5 of his last 7 (including 70-plus in 3 of those), and his only game with fewer than 49.6 in the last month came in his last outing, when he played only 26.3 minutes in a blowout victory. In what should be the most fantasy-friendly game on the slate, Giannis and his 55.6 FanDuel points per game are a tough fade in any format, especially with Anthony Davis -- the only player averaging more fantasy points than Giannis -- drawing a tough matchup against Memphis while priced at $12,900.
