NBA Daily Fantasy Primer: Sunday 10/28/18

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

Kevin Durant ($10,200): The Golden State Warriors have the highest implied total on the slate (118.00) and a massive 10.0-point spread as they travel to face the Brooklyn Nets. Our models have Durant projected to score 48.6 FanDuel points, which is the second-highest projection on the entire main slate. KD has been a beacon of consistency this season through the first six games. He's had at least 45.7 FanDuel points in five of six games and has posted a usage rate of at least 28.8% in all six games. He's averaging 29.9 real-world points per game while shooting over 50.0% from the field. The crazy part of his scoring and efficiency thus far is that he's only 9 for 25 from three-point range, meaning when he finds his stroke from the outside, we might see Durant turn in his best offensive season ever if he keeps up this torrid pace. For DFS purposes, it's just another day at the office -- plug him in.
