NBA Daily Fantasy Primer: Sunday 10/21/18
On a four-game slate, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry are awfully appealing for their clash with the Nuggets. Which other players should you check out?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate, which starts at 6 p.m. EST.

Best of the Best

Kevin Love ($8,100): The Cleveland Cavaliers have a slate-high implied team total of 118.00 points and host the visiting Atlanta Hawks. The offensive surge, if the implied total comes to fruition, will be led by Love from all over the court as he's shown willingness to play in the paint this season as well as shoot the ball from the outside (4-of-11 from deep). In the first game of the season, Love played 34 minutes and finished with a 32.4% usage rate. In the second game, Love played a team-high 39.5 minutes and finished with a 26.8% usage rate. In a pace-up spot against the Hawks and with a combination of high minutes and usage, Love is primed for an offensive explosion at just $8,100. Our models have him projected for 45.8 FanDuel points.
