3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 3/28/18

Despite a string of productive games, Al-Farouq Aminu is fade-worthy as he squares off with JaMychal Green and the Grizzlies.

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference between winning and losing your contests. Which players should we avoid tonight?

Al-Farouq Aminu, PF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $6,500

Al-Farouq Aminu is coming off a big double-double (36 FanDuel points) against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night, but on the second night of a back-to-back Wednesday, Aminu has a tougher matchup against JaMychal Green and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Even though the Grizzlies haven't been as good as a team defensively, Green has been a very good individual defender this season. He is holding opposing players to 44.3% shooting this season, and, because of this, our models project Aminu to be limited to 25.0 FanDuel points in Wednesday's matchup.

Joe Ingles, SF, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Price: $6,400

Joe Ingles has been fantastic this season, but he could be in for a tough matchup on both ends of the court Wednesday night as he'll take on Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics.

Boston is holding small forwards to only 0.77 FanDuel points per minute this season, and Brown is limiting players he defends to just 38.3% shooting overall, including 31.3% from three-point range. This makes Ingles a tough DFS target.

Jaylen Brown, SF, Boston Celtics

FanDuel Price: $5,500

On the flip side of the same matchup, Jaylen Brown can probably be avoided as well. Not only is Brown dealing with the tough defense of the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake, but he could still see his minutes limited in only his third game back from a concussion.

Brown has played just 25 minutes in his first two games back, and unless he gets a minutes increase Wednesday, he is a risky DFS investment. Additionally, the Jazz have been great against opposing wing players, holding small forwards to 0.77 FanDuel points per minute. The Brown-Ingles matchup is a fantasy wash tonight.
