3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 2/28/18

The stars don't seem to be aligning for Dennis Schroder against the Indiana Pacers tonight. Which other NBA players are worth avoiding in Wednesday's DFS contests?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference between winning and losing your contests. Which players should we avoid tonight?

Dennis Schroder, PG, Atlanta Hawks

FanDuel Price: $7,000

Dennis Schroder's first two games against the Indiana Pacers this season have been pretty poor, and our models think that trend could continue on Wednesday at home.

Schroder has collectively shot 7-for-27 from the floor against the Pacers, and it could be because of Indiana's strong defense against point guards. They're holding opposing point guards to 0.86 FanDuel points per minute this year, which is the fifth-best mark in our DvP Matchup Chart.

Austin Rivers, PG, Los Angeles Clippers

FanDuel Price: $5,800

The last time Austin Rivers played the Houston Rockets, he put up a herculean effort with 36 points to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a win. He was injured in their most recent meeting, though, and Chris Paul was out the night RIvers had that big game back in December.

With Paul and Rivers both healthy for this matchup, Rivers may have a target on his back. Paul and the Rockets are holding point guards to just 0.85 FanDuel points per minute, and you can bet he's been looking forward to playing his former club for a while now.

Stanley Johnson, SF, Detroit Pistons

FanDuel Price: $4,100

Stanley Johnson started seeing bigger minutes after the trade deadline, but he's struggled against the Milwaukee Bucks this season, making him a tough player to target tonight -- even at home.

The Bucks are holding small forwards to only 0.76 FanDuel points per minute. In his three meetings with the Bucks this year, Johnson has shot just 5-for-20 from the floor.
