3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 12/4/17
In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.
You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to -- or even fade altogether?
Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.
Derrick Favors, PF, Utah Jazz
FanDuel Price: $7,600
While Gobert likely won't see a huge amount of minutes after missing just under a month with a knee injury, his presence does hurt Favors' fantasy value. According to NBA Wowy, Favors is averaging 1.28 points per play with Gobert out, compared to 1.06 points per play with Gobert playing.
There is also the matchup to factor in tonight as Favors will be switching back to power forward. The Wizards are holding power forwards to 0.88 FanDuel points per minute, so at the inflated price tag of $7,600 (due to his good run with Gobert out), Favors is a tough sell tonight.
Jayson Tatum, PF, Boston Celtics
FanDuel Price: $6,100
These two teams have hooked up twice this year already, and Tatum had just 22.8 and 19.9 FanDuel points in the two clashes with Milwaukee. These were much earlier in the season, but playing against Giannis Antetokounmpo has proven to be a difficult task for the rookie.
The Bucks are holding power forwards to 0.81 FanDuel points per minute, and they have been even stingier to small forwards. With a tough matchup and a poor history against the Bucks, Tatum looks like a fade tonight.
JaMaychal Green, PF, Memphis Grizzlies
FanDuel Price: $4,900
Those chasing points with JaMychal Green may be disappointed on Monday night. After scoring a season-high 28.4 FanDuel points on Saturday, Green is up against Taj Gibson and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday. That is less than ideal.
