3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 11/01/17

Bogdan Bogdanovic and his Kings have a brutal matchup with the Boston Celtics, so take a pass on the rookie in DFS. Who else should we fade?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Danilo Gallinari, SF, Los Angeles Clippers

FanDuel Price: $6,100

Danilo Gallinari busted out of his early-season funk on Monday, netting 19 points in a loss to the Golden State Warriors. However, Gallinari has scored more than 30 FanDuel points just twice in his six games this season for the Los Angeles Clippers, and tonight's game script against the Dallas Mavericks is working against him.

The Mavs play at a pace of just over 95 possessions per game, which currently ranks 27th in the league. That pace hasn't helped their defensive rating of 112.1 very much, but it has made them a tough team on opposing fantasy players.

Dallas is allowing just 0.69 FanDuel points per minute to opposing small forwards in 2017-18, and Gallinari's matchup with Harrison Barnes isn't great. In their last two meetings since Barnes joined the Mavs, Gallinari is a combined 6-for-19 shooting.

Al Farouq Aminu, PF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $5,600

Al-Farouq Aminu couldn't keep his impressive weekend fantasy run going on Monday, posting a disappointing 4-point and 7-rebound game against the Toronto Raptors. Now he and his Portland Trail Blazers have to square off with the Utah Jazz, a team we usually try to steer clear of in NBA DFS.

The Jazz are holding opponents to just 98.5 points per 100 possessions this season, and they are playing at the slowest pace of any team at 94.5 possessions per game. This has led to the Jazz being one of the toughest teams for opposing fantasy players.

Power forwards are scoring just 0.86 FanDuel points per minute against the Jazz this year, and that makes Aminu and most of the Blazers players to avoid tonight.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, SG, Sacramento Kings

FanDuel Price: $4,500

After three straight good games to start the season, Bogdan Bogdanovic put up a stinker on Tuesday with 7 points in a season-high 28 minutes. He and the Sacramento Kings have a much tougher task Wednesday against the Boston Celtics.

Boston has opened the year with a defensive rating of just 97.8 points allowed per 100 possessions, currently tops in the NBA.

The Celtics are holding shooting guards to just 0.56 FanDuel points per minute, so coming off the game last night, Bogdanovic is a risky play against the Celtic defense.
