5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays for 10/23/17
Malcolm Delaney is priced at near-minimum salary and should see an uptick in minutes for Atlanta tonight. Who else makes for a strong value play in Monday's NBA DFS contests?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Malcolm Delaney, PG, Atlanta Hawks

FanDuel Price: $3,100
Projected FanDuel Points: 2.6
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.32

Dennis Schroder is doubtful to play tonight versus the Miami Heat, which would pave the way for Malcolm Delaney to get extensive minutes. In the last two games, Delaney has averaged 4 points, 4 assists, and 2.5 rebounds in just 22.5 minutes of play. Last year, he put up per-36 numbers of 11.3 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds, so he could be in for a decent night if given the extra playing time.

Based on our metrics, Delaney is projected to have the highest value among all players on tonight's slate.

Buddy Hield, SG, Sacramento Kings

FanDuel Price: $4,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 25
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.22

Buddy Hield is coming off a forgettable 1-for-10 shooting night from the field, including 0-for-4 from beyond the arc. Through his first three games, he is attempting 12.7 shots -- including 5.7 three-pointers -- so he is giving himself many opportunities to score. He will look to bounce back versus the Phoenix Suns, who are giving up 128.7 points per game, which ranks worst in the league.

According to our tools, Hield is projected with the fourth-highest value among all shooting guards playing on Monday.

Dillon Brooks, SF, Memphis Grizzlies

FanDuel Price: $4,400
Projected FanDuel Points: 27
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.13

Having averaged 30-plus minutes in his first two games, Dillon Brooks has already taken on a surprising role for the Memphis Grizzlies. He has made an impact on both ends of the court with early averages of 14 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks.

Brooks is projected with the highest value among all players at his position.

Dirk Nowitzki, PF, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Price: $4,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 26.7
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.8

It's not common to see a player of Dirk Nowitzki's caliber to show up on here, but the sure-fire Hall of Famer is playing in his 20th season, which has put a dent in his workload. Still, Nowitzki is capable of producing in a limited role, as he's averaged 7.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in 23.9 minutes this season.

Nowitzki is projected to have the highest value among all power forwards tonight and is worth considering as a flier. The Dallas Mavericks take on the Golden State Warriors in a matchup featuring the third-highest over/under total at 213.

Zaza Pachulia, C, Golden State Warriors

FanDuel Price: $3,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 18
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.13

Foul trouble has prevented Zaza Pachulia from getting a lot of playing time, but he's still chipping in where he can. Though he is coming off a scoreless outing, Pachulia is averaging 4.7 points, 6 rebounds, and a steal through his first three games.

Based on our numbers, he is projected to have the third-highest value among all centers tonight.
