5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 2/24/17

Bobby Portis looks to begin his campaign as the Bulls' best forward. Which other low-cost options are in a good spot for Friday's NBA DFS action?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Jordan Clarkson, PG, Los Angeles Lakers

FanDuel Price: $4,400
Projected FanDuel Points: 24.1
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.48

The Los Angeles Lakers will be thin at guard with both Corey Brewer and Tyler Ennis reported to be unavailable to make their debuts. As a result, Jordan Clarkson figures to see a boost from his usual 27.4-minute average, which has enabled him to put up per-36 numbers of 18 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.6 steals this year.

Clarkson is projected with the second-highest value among all point guards playing on Friday night.

Caris LeVert, SG, Brooklyn Nets

FanDuel Price: $4,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 16.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.22

Caris LeVert is reported to be in the starting lineup tonight, possibly the first of many, thanks to the departure of Bojan Bogdanovic. Over 18 games in which LeVert has logged 20-plus minutes, he's averaging 9.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.3 three-pointers made.

LeVert is tied with new teammate Sean Kilpatrick with the second-best defense-versus-opponent matchup among all shooting guards on tonight's slate.

Jerami Grant, SF, Oklahoma City Thunder

FanDuel Price: $3,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 11.8
Projected FanDuel Value: 3.03

The Oklahoma City Thunder made a last-minute splash just before the trade deadline by acquiring two legitimate forwards, but Jerami Grant and his athleticism will still be in the mix. Over his last three games before the All-Star break, Grant was averaging 9.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.7 blocks, and a steal in 24 minutes.

According to our tools, Grant is trending as tonight's hottest small forward, playing 64.69% above his season average in terms of fantasy points

Bobby Portis, PF, Chicago Bulls

FanDuel Price: $4,200
Projected FanDuel Points: 20.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.98

Make way for Bobby Portis! He should see more room to function with both Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott now in Oklahoma City. On the season, Portis owns per-36 averages of 13.9 points and 9.9 rebounds, and in his last game before the break, he recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds in 25.6 minutes.

Portis has the sixth-highest projected value among all power forwards playing tonight.

Jahlil Okafor, C, Philadelphia 76ers

FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 26.1
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.79

Now knowing he is staying in Philadelphia, Jahlil Okafor shouldn't see any minute restrictions. He will look to fill the offensive void left by Ersan Ilyasova, who was traded to the Atlanta Hawks, and Joel Embiid, who is set to be out for the next four games.

Okafor has per-36 stats of 17.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks this season and boasts the highest overall projected value among all players on Friday. Still priced at near-minimum salary, he's is a low-risk high-reward option.
