5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 2/23/17

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Tim Frazier, PG, New Orleans Pelicans

FanDuel Price: $3,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.6
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.59

From a fantasy standpoint, Tim Frazier could very well be the biggest beneficiary from the DeMarcus Cousins acquisition during the All-Star break. Frazier has already proven his value, as he began the season leading the New Orleans Pelicans backcourt with averages of 11.2 points and 7.7 assists in 23 starts.

Frazier is projected with the third-highest value among all point guards playing on tonight's long-awaited slate of games.

Ben McLemore, SG, Sacramento Kings

FanDuel Price: $4,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 20.0
Projected FanDuel Value: 5

As mentioned above, the Sacramento Kings relinquished their franchise player, which will open up a huge opportunity for Ben McLemore. Over the five games leading into the midseason break, McLemore was averaging 14.4 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.6 three-pointers in 33.3 minutes. Also, with Matt Barnes being waived, McLemore's usage rate is sure to see a dramatic increase.

McLemore is tied with new teammate Tyreke Evans with the best defense-versus-opponent matchup among all shooting guards on Thursday.

Aaron Gordon, SF, Orlando Magic

FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 23.8
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.29

With Serge Ibaka out of the picture, Aaron Gordon is expected to seize an increased workload. He's already on-pace to set career highs in points, assists, and three-pointers made this season, and in the two games leading into the All-Star break, Gordon averaged 9.5 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

The small forward is projected to net the ninth-most FanDuel points among players at his position.

Willie Cauley-Stein, PF, Sacramento Kings

FanDuel Price: $3,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 26.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 7.08

Willie Cauley-Stein has become the new promising big man for the Kings' future, as the team did not receive any frontcourt players in their surprise trade with the Pelicans. Over 9 games in which Cauley-Stein has logged 20-plus minutes, he has averaged 10.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks.

Cauley-Stein and the Kings play the Denver Nuggets, who rank last in defensive efficiency and effective field goal percentage allowed among all teams playing on today's slate.

Jusuf Nurkic, C, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $3,700
Projected FanDuel Points: 26.3
Projected FanDuel Value: 7.1

It has been reported that Jusuf Nurkic could see his first start with his new team tonight. Just before the break, he posted 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and a block in just over 21 minutes of play in his first game with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Nurkic boasts the highest overall projected value among all players on Thursday. Still priced at near-minimum salary, Nurkic is a low-risk high-reward option.
