5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 1/30/17

Jaylen Brown has seized the moment with Avery Bradley missing time. Which other low-cost options are in a good spot?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Yogi Ferrell, PG, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Price: $3,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.4
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.55

In his first career start yesterday, Yogi Ferrell logged 35.5 minutes and tallied a modest 9 points, 7 assists, and 2 steals. With Deron Williams ruled out for Monday, Ferrell will get another shot at impressing the Dallas Mavericks. Over three games in which Ferrell has played 20-plus minutes, he is averaging 10.7 points, 4 assists, and a steal.

Ferrell owns the highest projected value at his position on Monday's slate. At minimum salary, Ferrell presents is a low-risk, high-reward candidate.

Jaylen Brown, SG, Boston Celtics

FanDuel Price: $3,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 17.7
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.53

Jaylen Brown has been getting a lot of run lately due to the lingering achilles injury to Avery Bradley. Brown flexed his offensive muscles on Friday as he poured in a career-high 20 points. Over his last two games, Brown is averaging 14.5 points, 8 rebounds, and a steal in 29.1 minutes.

According to our tools, Brown is trending as the hottest player among shooting guards playing tonight -- he's played 63.71% above his season average in terms of fantasy points per night over his last five games. Furthermore, the Boston Celtics have the second-highest implied total at 110.25 points, so Brown has an opportunity to keep up his recent success.

Shabazz Muhammad, SF, Minnesota Timberwolves

FanDuel Price: $3,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 18.4
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.73

Shabazz Muhammad has been delivering with instant offense off the bench, as he's averaged 14 points over his last six games, which is just 0.2 points fewer than Zach LaVine over the same span. Muhammad has been superb over his last four games in which he's logged 20-plus minutes, as he's averaged 17.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2 three-pointers.

Muhammad is tied with the fourth-best defense-versus-position rank among all small forwards on tonight's slate. Also, the Minnesota Timberwolves are nine-point favorites versus the Orlando Magic, so Muhammad could see some extra minutes.

Nerlens Noel, PF, Philadelphia 76ers

FanDuel Price: $4,700
Projected FanDuel Points: 22.1
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.7

Joel Embiid is listed as questionable tonight versus the Sacramento Kings, which means Nerlens Noel could be be allotted a surplus of minutes once again. Noel has been excellent over his past four games with averages of 13 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.3 blocks, and 1.8 steals in 25.5 minutes.

Noel is projected to net the 10th-most FanDuel points among all power forwards, so he is worth considering as a value play.

Tristan Thompson, C, Cleveland Cavaliers

FanDuel Price: $4,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 22.7
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.62

Kevin Love has been ruled out for Monday, so the Cleveland Cavaliers will be short on the rebounding front. Enter Tristan Thompson, who is coming off a 19-point, 12-rebound effort which included 4 blocks and 4 steals. Thompson may be tasked with a heavier workload under the hoop versus a Mavericks team that's thin in the front court.

Thompson owns the seventh-highest projected value among all centers on Monday's slate.
