5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 1/5/17

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Tony Parker, PG, San Antonio Spurs

FanDuel Price: $4,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 21.6
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.70

In the past week, Tony Parker has turned back the clock, posting a season-high 22 points Sunday, and he is coming off a 15-point, 8-assist night on Tuesday. In fact, since Christmas, the veteran point guard is averaging 17.6 points, 5.8 assists and 28.0 fantasy points per night.

While Gregg Popovich resting his players is always a concern, Parker played only 22 minutes versus the Toronto Raptors two days ago, so he should be full speed ahead against the Denver Nuggets, who have allowed a league-worst 114.5 points per game in their last 10 contests.

Seth Curry, SG, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Price: $4,300
Projected FanDuel Points: 21.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.00

The Dallas Mavericks' offense has been making strides toward respectability in recent weeks, scoring 101.6 points per game. One key has been the play of Seth Curry. Having truly settled into his sixth-man role, Stephen Curry's younger brother is quietly averaging 11.6 points with 3.5 assists and 2.4 three-pointers for 21.6 fantasy points per game in his last 10 games.

With the Phoenix Suns coming to town on Thursday, Dallas has an implied point total of 105.5 points, making Curry, at a $4,300 price tag, one of the most low-risk plays of the night.

Kent Bazemore, SF, Atlanta Hawks

FanDuel Price: $4,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 21.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.47

After a poor start to the year, Kent Bazemore has found his stroke over the last three games, making 48.1% of his shots in that span. On Wednesday versus the Orlando Magic, he registered 17 points with 4 assists, 2 steals and 3 three-pointers. More importantly, he has seen his minutes tick up -- over 30 per game in his last nine contests -- as coach Mike Budenholzer has regained his trust in the versatile swingman.

With a mere $4,000 salary on Thursday, the Atlanta Hawks' forward owns the best-projected value of all the small forwards available, per our models.

Al-Farouq Aminu, PF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $4,100
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.1
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.65

Since returning from injury two weeks ago, Al-Farouq Aminu has been struggling offensively, but he has been filling up the stat sheet nonetheless. He has strung together three consecutive games with at least six rebounds, three assists and two steals. On Wednesday versus the Golden State Warriors, Aminu may have finally turned a corner with his shooting struggles, making 57.1% of his attempts while scoring 12 points with 2 three-pointers.

On Thursday, the Portland Trail Blazers have a tasty matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers -- a game that has the third-highest over/under of the night (215.5) -- making Aminu a potential steal at only $4,100.

Timofey Mozgov, C, Los Angeles Lakers

FanDuel Price: $3,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 17.2
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.78

Over his last seven games, Timofey Mozgov has seen an increase in action for the Los Angeles Lakers, and it has paid dividends. Playing nearly 26 minutes a night, the Lakers' center has four games of at least 20 fantasy points over his last seven, including an outing of 24.5 fantasy points Tuesday versus the Memphis Grizzlies. Mozgov scored 14 points with 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block in a season-high 37 minutes against Memphis.

At a near-minimum price tag ($3,600) and with a high-scoring game on the docket versus the Blazers, Mozgov projects as our third-best value center option on Thursday.
