5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 1/4/17

Which low-cost options are in a good spot for Wednesday's NBA DFS contests?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Malcolm Brogdon, PG, Milwaukee Bucks

FanDuel Price: $4,400
Projected FanDuel Points: 25.7
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.83

Malcolm Brogdon is making a midseason push to be in the Rookie of the Year discussion, as he's shaping up to be a reliable contributor while Matthew Dellavedova is shelved with a hamstring injury. Over his past three games, Brodgon is averaging 12.7 points, 7 assists and 5.7 rebounds in 34.7 minutes.

Brogdon will look to keep up his production under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden and has the highest projected value among all point guards on Wednesday's slate.

Allen Crabbe, SG, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $3,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.13

In four starts since the injury to Damian Lillard, Allen Crabbe hasn't elevated his production. However, he's getting plenty of opportunity -- the shooting guard is averaging 35.4 minutes over his last four games, which is 6.5 minutes more than his usual workload off the bench.

The Portland Trail Blazers are facing the Golden State Warriors, a game with the highest over/under of the night (223.5), so Crabbe should have the value to return value on his $3,800 price tag.

Aaron Gordon, SF, Orlando Magic

FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 21.4
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.74

Over their last four games, the Orlando Magic have averaged 9 points more per game than their regular season mark of 99.4, which has them ranked 24th in the league. Aaron Gordon has been a big part of that bump -- he's been given the green light during this span and has responded with averages of 16.8 points on 12 field goal attempts in 29.7 minutes.

That green light is projected to stay lit, as we have him scoring the eighth-most FanDuel points at his position on Wednesday.

Channing Frye, PF, Cleveland Cavaliers

FanDuel Price: $3,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 14.4
Projected FanDuel Value: 3.99

Channing Frye has notched double figures in six of his last eight games, with averages of 10 points and 3.5 rebounds in just 20.1 minutes. The power forward has drained 2.3 three-pointers while shooting 56% from deep in his last four games.

The Cleveland Cavaliers host the Chicago Bulls, who offer the second-best matchup to opposing power forwards among teams playing tonight. At a near minimum salary, Frye is worth considering as an option.

Willie Reed, C, Miami Heat

FanDuel Price: $4,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.3
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.84

With Hassan Whiteside still recovering from a retinal contusion and being questionable, Willie Reed could once again see the bulk of frontcourt minutes for the Miami Heat. Reed did his best Whiteside impersonation on Tuesday, scoring 22 points, grabbing 18 rebounds, and recording 2 blocks in 32.2 minutes.

His projected value of 4.84 on Wednesday is the sixth-highest among all centers anticipated to play on the slate.
