NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 12/17/16

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes a lot on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and depending on injury news, even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer and a handful of other awesome tools to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with a primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's slate.

Best of the Best

James Harden (FanDuel Price: $11,800): Harden's consistency makes him really hard to pass up, especially on a main slate today that has no Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis or DeMarcus Cousins. Harden's 18 games of 50-plus FanDuel points are the second-most in the league, and he has yet to score fewer than 40 in a game. He's got a great matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who rank 29th in defensive rating and have allowed the league's 7th-most fantasy points per game to opposing point guards -- where Harden has played most of his minutes this season, despite his shooting guard designation on FanDuel. We have him projected slightly behind Westbrook on the all-day slate, but he's our top option for today's main slate.
