3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 11/25/16

Rudy Gobert has to square off against Dwight Howard tonight in a tough matchup. Which other players should you stay away from for NBA DFS??

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include tonight in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about some guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets each night. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Rudy Gobert, C, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Price: $6,700

On a slate where every team is in play, it's going to be tough to pick some positions, and center is one of them. There are several guys who have attractive prices and matchups. While Rudy Gobert may have an intriguing price, his matchup against Dwight Howard isn't one to mess around with.

Howard has been having a renaissance season in Atlanta, and his renewed defense has almost been as impressive as his production on offense. Howard is holding players he defends to only 40.9% shooting from the floor and just 45.3% shooting from within six feet from the basket.

This has helped the Atlanta Hawks allow only 0.85 FanDuel points per minute to opposing centers. Plus, in their career matchups against one another, Howard has almost always gotten the better of Gobert.

Dennis Schroder, PG, Atlanta Hawks

FanDuel Price: $5,500

Anyone who has recently played Dennis Schroder knows that he is trending in the wrong direction. He hasn't played more than 27 minutes in any of his last three games, and he now has to face off against the Utah Jazz, one of the tougher teams to produce fantasy points against.

George Hill is back in action for the Jazz, which is good news for their defense against point guards. Point guards are averaging just 0.73 FanDuel points per minute against the Jazz this season, and Hill is holding players he defends to only 42.6% shooting from the floor.

With Schroder struggling and Hill playing at home, Schroder is another player to avoid from the Hawks and Jazz game.

Marcus Morris, SF, Detroit Pistons

FanDuel Price: $5,000

We've touched on this a few different ways so far this season, but it has to be reiterated: the Los Angeles Clippers are a very good defensive team. Their entire frontcourt has been stellar on defense this season. While DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin get a lot of credit for that, the lesser known Luc Mbah a Moute needs to get a lot of props for how well he is defending this year.

The Clippers are allowing only 0.70 FanDuel points per minute to opposing small forwards, and Mbah a Moute is holding players he defends to 36.1% shooting overall and 28.6% shooting from three-point land.

All of this spells bad news for Marcus Morris tonight. Not only is Morris facing an elite defensive team, but he's going to see plenty of Mbah a Moute.
