5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 11/11/16

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup tonight.

Patty Mills, PG, San Antonio Spurs

FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 18.5

Tonight, the San Antonio Spurs host the Detroit Pistons in a game with a low over/under of 195. As nine-point favorites, the Spurs can probably do what the Spurs do and give rest to their veterans. That's especially true with a game against the Houston Rockets tomorrow night.

If Tony Parker sits -- he's currently questionable -- Patty Mills becomes an excellent value option at point guard. The Spurs are operating at an offensive rating of 119 with him on the floor and 98.6 without him. They also play 4 possessions faster per 48 minutes (95.6 from 91.6) with him on the floor.

Monta Ellis, SG, Indiana Pacers

FanDuel Price: $5,300
Projected FanDuel Points: 30.2

This is actually a pace-down game for the Indiana Pacers against the Philadelphia 76ers, but both rank top-12 in tempo this year. Plus, the Pacers are the fastest team in action tonight, and the 76ers are fifth-fastest. There's a solid 214 over/under, and Monta Ellis is projected for 5.79 FanDuel points per $1,000 in salary. That's tough to pass up at shooting guard tonight even after he notched just 15 FanDuel points in 40 minutes against them on Wednesday.

Maurice Harkless, SF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 21.6

Maurice Harkless is playing really well of late and has played at least 32 minutes in four of his last five games. He did get just 22 last game against the Los Angeles Clippers, but his minutes are probably safe against the Sacramento Kings. The Kings are a pace-down matchup this year and are playing slower than any team other than the Utah Jazz. That's not great, but the over/under is 211 regardless. We project him for 21.6 FanDuel points, which isn't too far off the 22.5 you'd want for cash-game value (5 points per $1,000 in salary).

Patrick Patterson, PF, Toronto Raptors

FanDuel Price: $4,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 14.9

The playability of Patrick Patterson depends on the status of Jonas Valanciunas, but Valanciunas is looking like a game-time decision who will ultimately sit. If that's the case, Patterson at $4,000 and Lucas Nogueira at $3,700 (and center rather than power forward on FanDuel), will be value options. Patterson has played at least 30 minutes in five of his last six games but picked up the fantasy production (24.8 FanDuel points and 25.1) without Valanciunas in recent games.

Nogueira got 21 and 29 minutes in his past two and averaged 0.88 fantasy points per minute, giving you two ways to attack this frontcourt if Valanciunas sits.

Steven Adams, C, Oklahoma City Thunder

FanDuel Price: $5,300
Projected FanDuel Points: 24.0

Steven Adams mustered just 15.7 FanDuel points against the Clippers five games ago in 31 minutes, while scoring just 2 points. He's scored double-digit points in four of his last six games, though, and his minutes likely aren't in jeopardy in this matchup. The Clippers do rank just below league average (97.3) in pace at 97.0 possessions per 48 minutes, but Adams is a pretty safe bet for production tonight.
