3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 3/15/19

The Detroit Pistons aren't completely out of the woods yet. The team comes into tonight's home game against the Los Angeles Lakers 3.5-games up on the Orlando Magic with still 15 games to play. Anything can happen over that amount of time, and the Pistons' hopes may have taken a hit when starting point guard Reggie Jackson injured his ankle on Wednesday.

Jackson says it's not a big deal, but given the mathchup against a team who is 2-8 in their past 10 and played last night, it could make sense for the Pistons to make sure Jackson gets back to 100% before throwing him back to the fire. If they do, Ishmael Smith will be in prime position to provide solid value tonight.

Smith has returned solid value against the Lakers regardless of increased minutes. He's scored more than 20.0 DraftKings points in three of his four meetings against them whilst in a Pistons uniform, averaging 20.8 DraftKings points in 20.9 minutes of run.

Heck, returning solid value hasn't been hard for Smith recently no matter the opponent. He's averaging 22.4 DraftKings points in 23.1 minutes in seven March games, which is nearly identical to Jackson's 22.5 and 23.2 in that span.

We currently project Smith to finish with 19.6 DraftKings points tonight, but expect that number to quickly rise if the Pistons are cautious and hold Jackson out for one game.
