3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 2/13/19

Yeah, you got me -- Gordon Hayward was in this article yesterday. Guilty as charged. But he's just been too dang good of late, and tonight's game once again lines up well for him to continue his stellar play.

The Boston Celtics, who are coming off a big 112-109 road win at the Philadelphia 76ers, will be back at home tonight to host the Detroit Pistons. Hayward hasn't done particularly well against the Pistons, averaging just 17.4 DraftKings points across three matchups this season, so why use him now?

Well, using him tonight makes all the sense in the world if you think the Celtics will play it safe and rest Kyrie Irving in their last game before the All-Star break. Irving sat out last night's win with a knee injury, and there seems little reason for Brad Stevens to risk exacerbating the injury by playing him tonight.

Irving's absence is important for Hayward's production. In the nine games he's played without Kyrie this season, his usage rate has jumped from 18.6% to 23.2% and his DraftKings output goes from 23.1 to 30.1 points. He's scored at least 26.75 points in seven of the nine games that he's played without Irving, and 36-plus in each of his past two.
