Suns Out, (Young) Guns Out

Despite the Suns pulling up the rear in the Western Conference, the number of fantasy bright spots doesn’t necessarily correlate.

We’ve talked about De’Anthony Melton, we all know about Devin Booker, and now rookie big man Deandre Ayton is getting in on the action too, having scored the eighth-most FanDuel points of any player over the last two weeks.

Over that span, Ayton has reached at least six-times value in four of eight games, scoring at least 25 points in five of them and hauling in double-digit rebounding totals in all but one. In fact, the rebounding numbers have been borderline incredible: 18, 17, 18, 12, 9, 14, 10, 11.

In may be a throwaway season in Phoenix with draft position and the development of young guys taking priority, but it doesn’t create a lack of fantasy opportunity. Ayton is making the most of his rookie campaign and his salary (which now seems to hover around $8,000) is more than fair.

Phoenix takes on the Clippers tomorrow night, followed by the Hornets, Kings, and Mavericks next week.
