3 NBA DraftKings Studs to Target on 12/14/18

The Denver Nuggets are in a rough spot at the moment. Already without starter Will Barton for weeks, they recently lost both Gary Harris and Paul Millsap to injury. While it's certainly smart to look towards the bench to see who's next up to try and fill the gaps, why not start with the best player on the court?

Unless you're just starting to follow the NBA today, you'd know that I'm talking about Nikola Jokic. In the two games since Millsap has gone down, Jokic has made his presence felt in a big way, averaging 25.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 11.5 boards. That has amounted to two games in a row of at least 53 DraftKings points.

Jokic only played 27 minutes in a 105-98 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in November, but its hard to see the Nuggets getting up by 21 points by halftime in tonight's game with all of the injuries. In fact, the Thunder are two-point favorites tonight even though the game is in Denver, so it's hard to see Jokic playing any fewer than the 32-plus mintues he's seen in each of his past six games.

The last two times he saw 30-plus minutes of run against the Thunder, Jokic went off for 58.0 and 76.75 DraftKings points, respectively. While our models don't project that high of a score tonight (we have him at 44.8), we have his upside at 71.9 DraftKings points, so never say never.
