5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 1/31/18
Bobby Portis could be the Bulls' only healthy power forward tonight. Which other players are in good spots to produce at a low cost on Wednesday's slate?

J.J. Barea, PG, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Price: $4,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 23.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.97

Due to an oblique injury, J.J. Barea has missed the last two games and is questionable for tonight's showdown with the Phoenix Suns. But if he's able to get back in the lineup, he's in a nice spot for the Dallas Mavericks.

With a combination of youth and unproven defenders, the Suns own the NBA's worst defensive rating (112.4 points allowed per 100 possessions). Their points against per game (112.3) are also dead last when we account for their top-three pace. And that's a big bump for a Mavericks team scoring just 101.7 points per game and playing at the league's fifth-slowest pace.

The pace-up matchup should benefit Dallas' backcourt the most. On the year, the Suns are 28th against point guards, and over the last 10 games, their opponents have gone from averaging 45.2 FanDuel points to 49.4 per game over that span. If Barea's back in, he's a tournament-only option on a value-packed slate.
