Rajon Rondo, PG, Chicago Bulls

FanDuel Price: $6,500

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Even on just a five-game slate, point guard is stacked tonight. At the top end, Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, and Ricky Rubio all find themselves in good spots and should be popular.

Just below them in price, in the same range as Rajon Rondo, is D'Angelo Russell, Tyler Ulis, and Jeremy Lin, all of whom are trending up right now. Ish Smith is still just $5,300 and finds himself in a beautiful matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. With all of these players available, don't expect many to have Rondo on their squads.

Why You Should Use Him:

Rondo's production has been all over the map since stepping into a larger role for the Chicago Bulls, with three of his past seven games resulting in 40-plus FanDuel points and the other four all going for under 23. That inconsistency can be maddening, but the upside he has shown is exactly what we are looking for in tournaments.

There's reason for optimism that he can access that upside with Chicago taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have really struggled on the defensive end this season, ranking dead last in defensive efficiency in March. Their struggles have been epitomized by their fantasy numbers against guards, as they have allowed the seventh-most FanDuel points to opposing point guards and are last against shooting guards.

It should come as no surprise that they've allowed so many fantasy points to point guards, given Irving's defensive real plus-minus (DRPM) of -1.99, which ranks 75th among qualified point guards.

Rondo's game is far too volatile to consider him in cash formats, but he has the upside to be a difference maker in tournaments.
