Blake Griffin, PF, Los Angeles Clippers

FanDuel Price: $9,100

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Even on a slate full of slow-paced teams, there are plenty of appealing power forward options available. At the top end, Blake Griffin will likely lose out on ownership to Nikola Jokic, whose Denver Nuggets easily have the highest implied team total on the slate.

On the other side of the ball in that shootout is Julius Randle, who has played quite well recently. In the same price range, Marvin Williams has topped 35 FanDuel points in four of his past five games and is still priced conservatively.

Willie Cauley-Stein has averaged 38.5 minutes over his past two games and should be a trendy pick in a solid matchup against the Orlando Magic. David Lee could be popular as well, while he fills in for LaMarcus Aldridge.

In an absolutely brutal on-paper matchup against the Utah Jazz, not many are likely to pay up for Griffin.

Why You Should Use Him:

Griffin has been a bit of a disappointment from a fantasy perspective over the past couple weeks, but he has shown the ability to put up huge totals in any given game. According to our Floor/Ceiling tool, Griffin has a higher ceiling than any power forward on this slate, as well as a higher ceiling per dollar than any "stud" priced above $9,000. This tantalizing upside is exactly what we want in a tournament play.

While a matchup against the Jazz is normally one to avoid, that might not be the case tonight. Derrick Favors has already been declared out for this one, while Rudy Gobert is questionable. The Jazz defense is clearly different without their two interior anchors, but just how much of an impact does their absence have?

According to nbawowy.com, Utah's defensive rating has dropped from third-best in the league (105.5) to what would rank dead last (113.8) when they have played without both Gobert and Favors. To be fair, they have played just 354 minutes with both big men off the floor, which is the equivalent of about 7.5 games, so we're dealing with a small sample size here.

With just Favors off the floor, their defensive rating has remained fairly static, coming in at 105.9. So, if Gobert plays, Griffin becomes not nearly as appealing of a play. It is worth noting, though, that Griffin put up 51 FanDuel points in his last meeting with Utah -- a game in which both Favors and Gobert played.

Griffin is far too risky for cash games, but keep an eye on Gobert's status -- if he ends up taking another game off, Griffin could end up dominating this matchup at very low ownership.
