Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons are likely still a year or two of improvement away from being able to down the big dogs in the NBA, but this is an encouraging sign for Pistons fans. The Pistons are certainly on their way back to being contenders after being bounced in the first round last year, but for the skeptics out there, this shows how shallow the list of potential NBA champions is this season.

Stan Van Gundy added some good pieces this offseason. However, they will have to overcome an early season injury to point guard Reggie Jackson, who is slated to miss 15 to 20 games.

Detroit was able to play Cleveland tight throughout the season but lost seven of eight to the Cavs, including a first round sweep in the playoffs.
