Chicago White Sox catcher Kevan Smith is playing designated hitter versus the Chicago Cubs in Friday's series opener.
What It Means:
Smith will work out of the six-hole while handling DH duties for only the second time this season. Avisail Garcia will return to right field and Daniel Palka will be on the bench.
