Cubs' Addison Russell placed on administrative leave by MLB
Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell has been placed on administrative leave by Major League Baseball.
Russell has been part of an ongoing domestic violence investigation that was first opened last June and re-emerged after Russell's ex-wife, Melisa Reidy, posted details about the alleged abuse on her blog Wednesday. Javier Baez will replace Russell at shortstop Friday.
Russell was averaging 7.0 FanDuel points per game this season, while slashing .250/.317/.340 with 5 home runs, 38 RBI, 52 runs scored, and 4 steals across 465 plate appearances.
