Nick Kingham will start in place of Ivan Nova for Pittsburgh on Sunday
Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Nick Kingham will make a spot start in place of Ivan Nova on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves.
What It Means:
Nova is dealing with a personal issue and will not be able to make his start as planned. Kingham, who was recalled from the minor son Saturday, will make his 13th start of the season. He owns a 3.88 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in the minors in 2018.
He owns a 4.92 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and a 20.9% strikeout rate over 64 innings pitched this season.
