New York Yankees catcher Austin Romine is starting on Friday versus the Detroit Tigers.

Romine will replace Kyle Higashioka behind the plate and bat eighth versus Tigers right-hander Jordan Zimmerman. Fellow righty Luis Severino will throw for the Yankees.
